Tsum Valley is a sacred pilgrimage site which situates in northern Gorkha. The word ‘Tsum’ comes from Tibetan word "Tsumbo" which means vivid and number 4000 offering. Tsum Valley Trek trail heads upper Budi Gandaki River Valley through unexplored countryside inhabited by the Tibetan community.
The region was just opened to foreign visitors in 2008. In Upper Tsum Valley, “Tsumbo" welcomes you with traditional Tibetan Su Chiya (butter tea) and local meal. And it’s authentic Tsum Villages such as Chhokangparo, where the area is long considered Baeyul or Hidden land offers totally unspoiled culture and tradition of Tsumba with fabulous mountain view of Ganesh Himal Range, Sringi Himal, Bauddha Himal and Himalchuli.
The valley is extensively rich in cultural and tradition dwelled with Buddhist monasteries, nunneries, chortens and prayer walls and significant religious monuments, the longest mani walls at Dzong and Phurpe are great attractions. Tsum Valley Trekking Permit is rock bottom cheap comparatively to other restricted areas and even cheaper than its sister trekking trail Manaslu Trekking trail. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1360m), free pick up from airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing in places of World Heritage Sites.
Day 03: Drive 7-8 hrs to Arughat from KTM and stay there overnight.
Day 04: Arughat - Soti Khola/710m, and approximately 4 hrs walk.
Day 05: Soti Khola - Machha Khola/887m and approximately 6 hrs walk.
Day 06: Machha Khola - Jagat/1345m and approximately 6 hrs walk.
Day 07: Jagat - Lakpa/2240m and approximately 6 hrs walk.
Day 08: Lokpa - Chumling/2386m (Lower Tsum) approximately 4-5 hrs walk.
Day 09: Chumling - Chhokangparo (Upper Tsum)/3031m and approximately 4-5 hrs walk.
Day 10: Chhokangparo - Nile/3347m and visit Milarepa Piren Phu Cave on the way.
Day 11: Nile/Chhule to Mu Gompa (3700 m), visit Dhephyudonma Gompa/4060m and 4-5 hrs. walk.
Day 12: Mu Gompa - Rachen Gompa, visit Gonhgye Gompa (Nyigma-pa Buddhist sect.
Day 13: Rachen Gompa – Dumje/2460 and approximately 5-6 hrs walk.
Day 14: Dumje – Gumpa Lungdang/3200m approximately 4 hrs walk.
Day 15: Gumpa Lungdang – Lokpa, approximately 6-7 hrs. walk.
Day 16: Lokpa – Jagat, approximately 6-7 hrs walk.
Day 17: Jagat – Machha Khola, approximately 5-6 hrs walk.
Day 18: Machha Khola – Arughat, approximately 6-7 hrs walk.
Day 19: Drive to Kathmandu from Arughat, 7-8 hrs drive.
Day 20: Departure from Kathmandu to home country.
