Tamang Heritage Trek

A new experience for enthusiast Nepal travelers! 
Tamang Heritage Trail Trek offers a close experience of Himalayan way of life and cultural and cultural Heritage. The tour leads us to lush midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of the Himalayan County and the traditions of the local inhabitants. The trail goes through traditional Tamang communities where life, culture and crafts have remained untouched since the establishing of settlement. Affectionate traditional welcome hosted by the locals, their elaborate costumes, rich architectures of their mountain houses, the ancient Buddhist monasteries and places of prayers add color to the experience of this trail. In addition to culture experience, the trek also rewards wilderness experience through gorgeous backdrop of alpine landscape, flat pastures and Rhododendron forests. 
The trail starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. Trail may end in Syabrubesi or follow the classic Langtang Valley Trek from Briddim village via Khamjim. Goljong and Gatlang are tradional Tamang Villges. Goljong has an ancient monastery. From the view point nearby one can see a panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal, Sanjen Himal ranges. Gatlang set on high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit Tamang Buddhist monastery and the beauty of the Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Healing bath and spa in the water of the natural hot spring at Tatopani en-route from Gatlang to Chilime is an exhilarating experience. Brimdang offers cultural experience at community-run home-stay, while Nagthali in Thuman VDC is surrounded by beautiful views of Himalayan ranges. 
The panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen Himal ranges can be distinctly views from Nagthali. Interested visitors can stay one more night at Nagthali at the newly developed hotel lodge. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Next cultural village after Nagthali is Thuman. Thuman is well-known for its Shamanic performances and beautiful view of Langtang from every houses in Thuman. 
Next is Timure on the old trade route to Tibet. A Fort at Rasuwagadi in Timure is a historical reminder of the Nepal – Tibet relations that has existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge here link Nepal and Tibet.

Day 01: Join Kathmandu 1300m
Arrive in Kathmandu and you will be received by our company representative and transferred to the selected hotel. Welcome evening dinner is held in the hotel for all clients arriving today. A short brief about your trip. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing. 
City sightseeing tour to world heritage sites; Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath(known as a monkey temple among westerners).The area has an amazing range of fascinating highlights, whatever your interest. Excellent bookshops, extensive markets, and novelty and handicraft shops contrast with fantastic centers of cultural and spiritual significance - Kathmandu has more World Heritage sites than any other city in the world. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu - Syabrubesi Syabru Bensi/1450m approx. 9 hours drive
After an early breakfast we drive north from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. Parts of the road are unsealed and the condition of the road often depends on the monsoon season. We will travel via Trisuli Bazaar where the dam and hydroelectric project was completed by the Indian Technical Mission. Finally we drive on to Syabrubesi and spend a night there. Stay overnight in lodge.

Day 04: Syabrubesi -  Gatlang/2238m. Walk approx. 5 hrs
After two to three hours of ascent from Syabrubesi we reach a view point where we gain fantastic views of the Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range and Langtang Lirung. We head down to Goljang valley (lunch stop) which is an hour walking down hill from our view point. Today we walk through many villages and along the trails there are numerous Buddhist chortens and mani walls. Gatlang is a beautiful Tamang village that is set high on a hillside among terraced fields. Stay overnight in lodge or home. Stay overnight in home or lodge. 

Day 5: Gatlang – Tatopani/2607m; Walk approx. 5-6 hrs
Today, our trek begins by descending to Thangbuchet, near Chilime village by the Bhotekoshi River. Chilime Hydropower dam is situated here. After Chilime, we start to ascend first by crossing a small hanging bridge and continue until we reach Tatopani. Enroute, we have outstanding views of the Langtang Range and Ganesh Himal. Tatopani literally means ´hot water´, where one can cleanse in the natural hot springs. Locals believe that the waters have a healing quality that eases away your aches and pains. Stay overnight in lodge. 

Day 06: Tatopani – Nagthali/3165 – Thuman/2338m. Walk approx. 7-8 hrs
This will be the longest trekking day. This morning we climb to Nagthali which is at the height of 3165m, which was once used as a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. This is the highest pass of the area, lies in high open grassland and offers panoramic views of snow covered Langtang Lirung, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen Ranges. We descend down to Thuman, a heavily Tibetan influenced Tamang village. If we are lucky, we might come across large troops of Nepal Gray Langur Monkeys. The ancient monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings here are an unforgettable experience. Stay overnight in lodge. 

Day 07: Thuman – Timure/1762m (Tibetan borderland) Walk approx. 2-3 hrs
We begin with easy flat trails which descend to Timure en route to the old trade route to Tibet. After lunch and making camp at Timure we head towards Rasuwa Gadhi, an historical reminder of the Nepal-Tibet relations that has existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge here links Nepal and Tibet. We are not permitted to camp at Rasuwa Gadhi, as it lies on the border and security is extremely tight. Stay overnight in lodge. 

Day 08: Timure – Bridim/ 2229m. 
Walking through rhododendron forests and meadows we trek towards Bridim, another Tibetan influenced Tamang community located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal. About 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of split shake. Here, we may meet other trekkers on the Langtang trail. Stay overnight in lodge or home. 

Day 09: Bridim – Syabrubesi/1450m
We follow the Bhote Kosi River on the left side of the valley to the north and then return on the opposite side. Passing through paddy and corn fields we finally descend to our campsite at Syabrubesi. Stay overnight in lodge. 

Day 10: Drive Back Kathmandu/1300m
In the morning, we take breakfast and ride the bus to Kathmandu. Your guide will tell you reporting time and departure time for the bus ride. Last our hang around at Thamel to chill out. Stay overnight in hotel. 

Day 11: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing, 
Sightseeing tour to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changunarayan, Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu Village. The area has an amazing range of fascinating highlights, whatever your interest. Excellent bookshops, extensive markets, and novelty and handicraft shops contrast with fantastic centers of cultural and spiritual significance - Kathmandu has more World Heritage sites than any other city in the world.

Day 12: Fly Back to Home Country. 
We will drop you at international airport and see you off and wish you for safe journey for back home.
