Kanchenjunga 8,586m adventure continues with time exploring the alpine forest in the high alpine landscapes with rare species orchids and rural farm and traditional villages. This amazing trip begins with a scenic flight to Tumlingtar and a  drive to Chinchilla a mid hill village in the sub-tropic zone following the River Arun upstream passing small scattered farm villages and then unto the higher region of Jaljala and Milke danda area. Milke Dande, located in the far east of Nepal, this excellent trek offers superb views of Khumburkarna Himal range, and of Mt.Everest. Milke danda area is less frequented by westerners; the region is densely vegetated with rare alpine flora and the beautiful rhododendron forest, in the spring and summer this place will be a paradise for naturalist, botanist and flower lovers, then finally ending this magnificent journey to Milke Danda Trekking at Tumlingtar for the flight back to Kathmandu with Planner Adventure Holidays (Pvt) Ltd.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu 1,300m. Transfer to Hotel. 
Day 02: A day in Kathmandu with half day tour. 
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar 950m. 5 - 6 hrs. 
Day 04: Drive to Chinchilla 1,800m. Approx 5 - 6 hours. 
Day 05: Trek to Mamakhe 1,870m. approx. 4 - 5 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Barabise 1,200m. 4 - 5 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Deorali 1,800m. 5 - 6 hrs. 
Day 08: Trek to Apung 1,930m. 5 - 6 hrs. 
Day 09: Trek to Dhap 2,600m. 5 - 6 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Jaljala 3,340m. 4 - 5 hrs.
Day 11: Rest day at Jaljala. 
Day 12: Trek to Milke Danda. 3,662m. 5 - 6 hrs.
Day 13: Rest day at Milke danda for local hike. 
Day 14: Trek to Nundhaki 1,800m. 5 - 6 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Chainpur 1,400m. 5 - 6 hrs. 
Day 16: Trek to Tumlingtar 4 - 5 hrs.
Day 17: Fly back to Kathmandu & transfer to hotel.
Day 18: Free day at leisure. 
Day 19: Transfer to Airport for international departure.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu 1,300m. and transfer to Hotel.
On arrival in Kathmandu International Airport meet Planner Adventure Holidays staff for complementary transport to respective Hotels, where our guide will give you a briefing of the Hotel, Kathmandu, Trekking / Camping, do's and don’ts and other related information in Nepal.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with half day sight seeing tour.
A free day in Kathmandu with half day sight seeing tour at places of interest, as Kathmandu is full of world heritage sites.

Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar (950m) 40 minutes flight and camp.
After breakfast, take a bus to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu Airport for the approx 40 minutes scenic flight to Tumlingtar overlooking range of snow capped peaks from Langtang all the way to Mt. Everest, Makalau & Mt. Kanchenjunga,

Tumlingtar airport and its village town situated on a shelf above the Arun River, meet our trekking crew and porters, away in the distance view of Mt.Makalu overnight camp in Tumlingtar near the village with time for short walk around the villages.

Day 04: Drive to Chinchilla (1,800m) via Mani-Bhanjyang (1,200m) 4 hrs. 
Trip starts with a pleasant drive of 4 hours through the farm fields and villages, on leaving the suburb of Tumlingtar, the road climbs gradually towards Khadbari in the midst of the sub-tropical forest of Sal (Sorea-Robusta) and more farm fields along the way, then reaching at Khadbari a major town village and a headquarter of the Sankha Shaba and Makalu region. A busy bazaar, especially on Saturday market day, from Khadbari the trail is gradual with few ups and down till it reaches the village of Manibhanjang, ascending the ridge on this dirt road to the small ridge-top village of Chinchilla. On route, passing through fertile farmed land, and verdant rain forest, with thick undergrowth and many types of ferns. Chinchilla a small farm village with 6-8 houses with a superb view of Mt.Makalu 8,463m and the Khumbukarna mountain range.

Day 05: Trek to Mamakhe 1,870m. 4 - 5 hrs.
Today's walk is more or less downhill with few ups and gradual path; route leaves the main trail of Makalu after Chinchilla. This is one of the few and rare path that westerners have used. Our route meanders through the farm fields and rural villages and coming to our overnight camp at Mamakehe afte 4-5 hours of good walk.

Day 06: Trek to Barabise 1,200m. 4 - 5 hrs.
The walk follows the low trail through a patch of cool dense forest of bamboo and rain forest crossing the numerous streams depending upon the season. The path leads too many small farm houses till we reach Barabise by the River.Barabise a small village houses mostly built of thatch roofs, this place is more sub tropical.

Day 07: Trek to Deorali 1,800m. 5 - 6 hrs.
From Barabise, our route heads towards north, leaving the river behind. Walk continues with a gradual climb through the farm terraces most of the way till Deorali is reached for the overnight camp. Here one can feel the cool breeze with a difference in climate than the other few nights.

Day 08: Trek to Apung 1,930m. 5 - 6 hrs.
From Deorali onwards, our route leads to more remote areas with only a sparse farm village, and more into a dense wood of rhododendron, magnolia and oaks and other alpine trees. Our walk is more of a climb with few gentle gradual portion on route our overnight camp at a small place of Apung.

Day 09: Trek to Dhap 2,600m. 5 - 6 hrs.
Today's walk leads to more up hills adding more heights with verdant green surrounding overlooking great landscapes of the surrounding area with the distance view of the snow capped peaks of Khumbakarna and Mt.Makalu. Trek continues through pasture and meadows and into the cool shade of the forest till a small place of Dhap is reached for the overnight camp.

Day 10: Trek to Jaljala 3,340m. 4 - 5hrs
Walk continues on the steep uphill to a higher ridge of this area Jaljala through the cool shade of the dense alpine forest, where one can get an idea of the Lord of the Rings in this verdant woods, with great variety of plants including the sweet fragrance of Dendrobium paparius in Nepali it is known as Lokta used for making rice paper. As our walk progress, reaching to the ridge top one can see a panoramic view of the Khumbakarna, Mt.Makalu and Kanchenjunga towards east. After a good steady walk of 4-5 hours, overnight camp in the clearing depending upon the availability of clean water. This area is renowned for nature lovers and botanist a perfect tranquility in the shade of perfect wilderness on the backdrop of snow capped mountains.

Day 11: Rest day at Jaljala.
Today a free day with optional hike the unexplored region of this area, as this region is very seldom ventured by westerners and still it needs to be explored to find a good panoramic viewpoint in this thick vegetation setting, as well for the Sunset and Sunrise depending upon the time of the season.

Day 12: Trek to Milke Danda 3,662m. 5 - 6 hrs.
After a wonderful time here, head along the ridge through the forest with occasional view of the snow capped peaks, the trek leads to misleading path, where one has to be careful and allow the lead Sherpa guide to lead the way and to find the tracks, as this area is very seldom used, and it is mostly used by the Shepard’s, woods men and villagers to collect the Daphnia plant to make the rice papers. Trek continues on this heavily wooded area and coming to another ridge top on the clearing for the overnight camp, where the view of the snow capped mountains is distinctly visible in these quiet surroundings.

Day 13: Rest day at Milke danda for local hike.
Another leisure day an opportunity to explore the unexplored region of this area, chances of seeing some wild life, from civet cat-fox-wolfs-antelopes including musk deer or  the elusive snow leopard and Red Panda, after a good hike around returning back to camp for dinner on this great peaceful surrounding.

Day 14: Trek to Nundhaki 1,800m. 5 - 6 hrs.
After a wonderful time at Jalajala and Milke danda area, route descends back to civilization, walk begins in the cool shade of the forest after 2-3 hours of good walk coming to a clearing with great views of the surrounding landscapes and the distance snow capped mountain range. Once off the dense forest, the walk is more or less downhill passing through many Shepard's huts and hamlets and then reaching towards the farm terraces and eventually to the village of Nundhaki, this place is also a junction that leads further east to Kanchenjunga and Sikkim across the border. Overnight camp is made near the village area.

Day 15: Trek to Chainpur 1,400m. 5 - 6 hrs.
The walk today is fairly easy on the downhill and gradual winding track all the way to the charming village of Chainpur, once a key village of this Sankha Sabha region and its administrative offices which has been transferred to the nearby town at Khandbari. Chainpur still retains its charm and it's famous for its outstanding metal brass and copper works and for the famed Gurkha knives "Khukuri" here the people are of mixed origin from Brahmans, Chhetries, Kirats, Tamang, Sherpas and the Newars.

Day 16: Trek to Tumlingtar 4 - 5 hrs.
The walk is on the pleasant downhill slope today from Chainpur through the farm villages and you can feel the rise in temperature as the trek leads to semi tropical area, and the vegetations changes as well to more fruit trees like mandarin oranges and other citric fruits and other fruit trees like Guava and Papaya. The down hill trail continues through the Sal forest for an hour and with the final descend to Tumlingtar for the overnight camp not far from the airstrip. Tumlingtar is situated on a plateau above the Arun and Sabha River with more than hundred houses scattered around on this wide red earth plateau.

Day 17: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
This morning can be free at leisure, depending upon the flight time, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason, the flight from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu takes less than an hour, a panoramic view of the mountains from the plane. Arriving at Kathmandu domestic terminal, Planner  Adventure Holidays staff will receive and transfer you back to Hotel.

Day 18: Free day at leisure.
A free day in Kathmandu, please inform our GA staff if you would like to go on another short tour in and around Kathmandu Valley.

Day 19: Transfer to Airport for the International departure.
Today as per your international flight time, Great Adventure staff will transfer you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.
